A must-read article written by David Reinhard, an associate editor of the Portland Oregonian newspaper and a prior judge of Cascade Policy Institute's Independence Scholarship Essay Competition for high school age students. While written in 1996, this article contains a timeless view of scholarship applications from the perspective of a judge. Highly recommended!
